With the football season well underway, our fantasy football league is heating up and here is a round-up of the story so far…

The Manager of the Month award for October proved to be the closest we’ve ever seen. Our first ever joint award was won by Tony Bibby (EVERTONY) and John Cain (Cock A Doodle Doo) who both ended up with 134 pts…we hope they don’t mind sharing their bottle of champers! ;-)

Has someone actually called their new born baby – Hashtag?! According to the internet, it would seem so…

The parent of the child posted a picture of her baby on Facebook along with a post that read:

“Hashtag Jameson was born at 10oclock last night. She weys 8pounds and I luv her so much!!!!”

Whenever a story appears about a baby’s that is weird and wonderful, people always make a fuss and all you need to do is search #Hashtag on Twitter to see!

It’s all well and good developing a fantastic new app then publishing for Android and Apple iOS platforms but then what? With the respective app stores growing exponentially it’s easy to upload your app then see it get lost in the myriad of available apps never to be seen again. Earlier this week, at the launch of the new iPad Mini, Tim Cook was boasting that the iPad alone had some 275,000 dedicated apps available and this excludes the several hundred thousand apps dedicated to iPhone and various Android devices!

Spider Online’s client Golden Charter, the Glasgow based funeral planning and legal services company, picked up another award for their online service last week.

Nominated for the Glasgow Business Award for E-Commerce, Golden Charter swept to victory picking up the prize for its success in taking a very personal service and marketing it online to a non-computer savvy generation.

Spider Online’s client FirstGroup has been short-listed by the judges for the heraldscotland.com Digital Business Awards 2012. The design and development of www.firstgroupgamestravel.com is a finalist in the E-commerce category for the awards held on Thursday 11th October at the Grand Central Hotel, Glasgow.
