I’m sure one way or another you will know about the disaster that is Apple’s Maps…whether you have an iPhone with iOS 6 installed or whether you have heard friends ranting about it, you will probably have heard that Apple’s maps fell flat on their face.

The new web standard for HTML (hyper text mark-up language), HTML5, has been around for a couple of years now and is starting to become extremely widespread in it's use for coding up new desktop websites.
Basic HTML5 elements (the actual new HTML5 tags such as nav, section etc.) are now supported in the latest versions of most of the major browsers and also most legacy browsers (with a bit of fiddling).
What aren't as widely supported are the new HTML5 web applications, graphics, embedded content, audio/video codecs and form elements.

For those that do not know, QR Codes (Quick Response Codes) are the black and white squares that are becoming increasingly popular on magazines and posters. They enable smartphone owners to scan them like a bar code and be taken directly to a website.
The most important thing about QR codes is the implementation of them. There have been many bad examples over the years which have caused them a lot of bad press; however, there are also some which proved to be very clever. For example, the virtual store in a Korean subway.
