Manager of the Month Update

While we have kept up to date with our monthly prizes, our monthly updates have been left lagging behind, so here’s a quick roundup of the winners so far…

October

October was the first of our monthly prizes and was closely contested by two friends. Jamie Cameron and his interestingly named team (Inter yer Maw) won with 162 pts, leaving Ross Hamill (Loser Cruisers) behind on 151 pts. Although Ross is clutching the champagne bottle rather tightly, it is actually being passed to Jamie on the left.

tellmescotland Apps Launch

tellmescotland has launched two stand-alone Apps on the iPhone and Android platforms to help citizens search for public information notices in Scotland, at their convenience, whilst on the move.

At the latest meeting of the Improvement Service Board, The Chair of the Board, Councillor David O'Neill, and Dr Jane Morgan, Deputy Director, Digital Public Services Division, The Scottish Government, formally launched the Apps, and have welcomed this new added-value service.

Spider Online win the Best Mobile Application Award at The Herald Digital Business Awards 2013

Spider Online took home the Best Mobile Application Award at last week’s Herald Digital Business Awards with the First Bus app created for transport giant FirstGroup. The ceremony took place at The Grand Central Hotel in Glasgow, and saw Spider Online impress the judges with their app design, functionality and commercial success.

The app faced some stiff competition, with The Herald stating that “this year the judges were extremely impressed by the breadth and quality of the entries demonstrating Scotland’s place as a world centre for creativity and digital design”.

First Bus App Shortlisted for Herald Digital Awards

For the third year in a row, Spider Online has been short-listed by the judges for the Herald Scottish Digital Business Awards. The development of the ‘First Bus’ mobile app is a finalist in the Best Mobile Application category for the awards, due to be held on Wednesday 23rd October at the Grand Central Hotel, Glasgow.
